Cross Border Discovery and Compliance Under the GDPR & the New Wave of Data Privacy Laws 2019 *In-Person at D.C. Bar*

Date(s):
December 3, 2019
Description:
Credits: 2.0 Credit Hours

Description: According to EY’s Global 2018 Fraud Survey, only 12% of respondents in the US would say they know the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) very well.  This is surprisingly low, given the broad applicability of the GDPR and the fact that other jurisdictions around the world (Asia/Pacific & South America) are quickly moving to enact similar laws.  This timely and informative class will provide those who attend with an overview of the current state of data privacy law and how companies can best adapt their processes for responding to requests for data from courts, government regulators, and in their compliance practices to minimize risk.

Faculty:

  • Eric J. Schwarz, Ernst & Young LLP
  • Jeane A. Thomas, Crowell & Moring LLP
