Credits: 3.0 Credit Hours

Description: Attend this class to receive a practical guide to the laws and rules governing lobbying of the federal government and federal officials. Additionally, the risks are much greater for lobbyists and their employers if they fail to understand the rules of the House and Senate pertaining to the provision of gifts has travel. Our faculty expert will give you a clear understanding of who has to register as a lobbyist, and how these individuals and their employers can meet the resulting compliance obligations. Those who attend will learn about the lobbying registration process and the quarterly and semi-annual reports that must be submitted.  Discover what must be tracked to fulfill reporting obligations and take away practice tips that will help you or your clients meet those obligations. The course will also cover the new requirements of the Justice Against Corruption on K Street Act (“JACK Act”) that took effect January 3, 2019.  Attendees will walk away from this class with resources to help them deal with a range of lobbying compliance questions and issues.  Anyone who counsels or represents clients on public policy issues, whose clients seek to influence public policy, or whose clients seek government contracts and grants should attend this class.
