Title IX: A View from the Trenches (On-demand)
Date(s):
Description: Original Run Date: February 26, 2020 Credit Hours: 3.0 Credit Hours Description: Title IX enforcement on college and university campuses has exploded in the last several years, with many colleges and universities taking on investigative roles that few of them ever anticipated. Attorneys for students often find themselves at a loss to understand this new regime, where you can’t issue subpoenas, can’t cross-examine witnesses, and usually have to sit silently during a hearing. How do schools investigate these cases? How should attorneys for complainants and respondents navigate this complex regime? This class, which will focus more on practical advice than legal theory, will bring together experienced attorneys who have experience with all sides of these cases and help answer these questions. Faculty: Melissa Carleton, INCompliance Consulting; Justin Dillon, KaiserDillon PLLC; Jason Waters, Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP
