Description: This class is for new practitioners in the area of workers’ compensation law.  Our experienced and knowledgeable presenter will provide a basic outline of what workers' compensation is and what it is not.  Who is entitled to benefits; what can they receive, what is the procedure for filing and how does the attorney earn a fee?  The class will provide those who attend with the basics needed to get started and represent individuals before the Department of Employment Services with workers' compensation claims.  This course will also assist claims professionals, paralegals, and other non-lawyers regarding the terminology used and claims handling.
