This event is the second program in our "Embassy Series." It will explore trade and investment trends in the Americas generally, as well as political and economic issues that may be affecting finance and investment in Brazil specifically.  Mr. Lucas Frota, Head of the Trade and Investment Office at the Brazilian Embassy, in Washington, D.C., will headline the event along with Mr. Simon Potter, counsel at McCarthy Tetrault in Montreal, Canada, and Mr. Thales Saito, partner at Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice Advogados in New York. The event will be moderated by Dante Figueroa, international dispute resolution practitioner, Latin American Editor of the Transnational Dispute Management Journal, and Chair of the DC Bar’s International Committee on Investment and Finance.
 
The first event in the Embassy Series is scheduled to take place on April 17, 2019, and will feature a conversation with Costa Rica’s Ambassador to the United States, the Honorable Fernando Llorca Castro, regarding trade and investment in Costa Rica. Our final program in the series to take place on May 8, 2019, will feature a spotlight on Peru with Mr. Alberto Hart, Head of the Trade and Investment Office at the Peruvian Embassy.
 
Pre-registration for this program is encouraged. As always, please feel free to share this invitation with colleagues. D.C. Bar membership is not required to attend. Food is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 11:45 am. Lunch and networking begins at 12:15 pm. Program content starts at 12:30 pm.
