Description: As technology continues to transform virtually every aspect of human life, it stands to reason that attorneys, their clients and their practices are being profoundly affected. Understanding the opportunities and risks these changes bring is critical to continued success for lawyers today-- and will only become more so in the future. At this full-day Institute, we will journey to the intersection of technology and the legal profession and explore the vast spectrum of issues that exist there, from digital transformation and cloud-based practice to the blockchain/cryptocurrency phenomenon, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity.
We’ll delve into the ways these trends are affecting practice management, client communications, discovery, litigation, and the very nature of client service, and connect the dots between what experts following these trends believe they mean for the legal community and what attorneys need to know in order to effectively advise clients about this rapidly developing area. A team from Bloomberg Radio will broadcast live from the Bar during portions of the program, highlighting key take-aways from the program and interviewing presenters and other DC Bar thought leaders. Sessions include:
  • Digital Transformation: A Necessity for Law Firms to Stay Competitive
  • Getting To Know Digital Currency And Blockchain Technology
  • What AI And ML Can Mean To Your Legal Practice
  • What Attorneys Should Know About SOC 2 Audits And How They Have Quickly Become The Standard for Technology Companies
