D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center Public Benefits Training Series: Unemployment Insurance Webinar

Many people lost their jobs during the pandemic. This session will help pro bono attorneys understand the unemployment insurance system and how to guide those who may be eligible. Join Drake Hagner (Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia), Nicole Dooley (Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia) and Tonya Love (Metro Washington Council AFL-CIO) to learn about the eligibility requirements for unemployment benefits in the District of Columbia. Presenters will discuss the regular state program, as well as the temporary federal pandemic program, Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (“PUA.”) This session will also cover Extended Benefits and the expiration of temporary federal pandemic unemployment programs at the end of this year
