Join the D.C. Bar Intellectual Property Law Community on December 7, 2020 for our virtual celebration of the D.C. Bar 2020 Champion of Intellectual Property Award Honoree. The Award is being given to retired Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit, Paul R. Michel.  The program will also include a special honor in memory of the late Donald R. Dunner to highlight both his career in shaping patent law and his contribution to the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center.
   
Judge Michel will be introduced in a presentation by retired IPO Executive Director Herbert Wamsley. In accepting his award, Judge Michel plans to speak on his thoughts on a current intellectual property topic, with a brief Q&A session.
 
The special presentation in memory of  Donald Dunner will feature remarks by D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center Executive Director, Rebecca K. Troth, and a presentation by Mr. Dunner’s Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner LLP partner and former D.C. Bar President, Esther H. Lim.  The honor will be accepted by his daughter, Lisa Dunner of Dunner Law PLLC.
 
The event will also feature information on the Pro Bono Center's current needs during the Covid 19 pandemic and on activities of the D.C. Bar Intellectual Property Law Community. 20% of registration will be donated to the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center Donald R. Dunner Fund for Legal Services.
