The program will cover an overview of statistics of work flow and recent developments at the USPTO Trademark Office and Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB). These include: new rulemaking that will require, with limited exceptions, all foreign-domiciled trademark applicants to use U.S. registered attorneys to prosecute applications; new mandatory electronic filing requirements; the new Examination Guide for Cannabis and Cannabis-Related Goods and Services After Enactment of the 2018 Farm Bill;  results to date of the newly instituted declaration of use audit program; a focus on increased China filings; and efforts to curb bad faith filings and use of counterfeited specimens. New TTAB developments include information on the Accelerated Case Resolution program, and comments on revisions to the Standard Protective Order.
