**This is a previously recorded program, originally recorded on May 18, 2020.

On April 23rd, Treasury and the IRS issued proposed regulations under IRC section 512(a)(6) as to the rules for calculating unrelated business income tax (UBIT) for separate unrelated trades or businesses. This is the first release on these issues since interim rules were released in 2018. The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act added IRC section 512(a)(6) creating the requirement for exempt organizations to "silo" separate unrelated trade or business activity. Join the Exempt Organization Committee for an afternoon virtual discussion of these proposed rules from a variety of perspectives.
